Frequently asked questions
What does the ticket include?
Self-guided entry to the grand staircase under Tiepolo's fresco, the White Hall and the Imperial Hall, plus included guided tours of the Southern Rooms and Mirror Cabinet at set times. The Court Church and Court Garden are free to all. We book your date and email the ticket.
Is entry at a fixed time?
No — your ticket is valid for the whole day you choose, within opening hours, so you arrive when you like. The one exception is the included guided tours of the further rooms, which run at set times through the day in German and English.
Are the rooms self-guided or guided?
The main state rooms — the staircase, White Hall and Imperial Hall — are self-guided at your own pace. Some further rooms, including the Mirror Cabinet, are seen only on guided tours that are included in your ticket and depart at set times in German and English.
Who enters free, and do I need ID?
Children and young people under 18 enter free (under-14s must be with an adult), and students over 18 enter free with a valid student ID — no ticket needed for either. Reduced tickets require original proof of eligibility at the entrance.
Will I really skip the queue?
Your print-at-home ticket lets you skip the cash-desk queue where visitors buy on the day. It is not a timed fast-track into the rooms themselves — you still enter within opening hours on your date — but it removes the transaction step, which is the slowest part in peak season.
How long should I allow?
Plan on 1.5–2 hours for the state rooms, plus 30–60 minutes for the free Court Garden and about 45 minutes if you join a guided tour. The staircase and Imperial Hall reward an unhurried look.
How and when will I get my ticket?
After you book, our team arranges your dated admission and emails your print-at-home ticket, usually well before your visit. You show it at the entrance on your chosen day. If we ever can't secure your date, we contact you and refund in full.
What are the opening hours?
April–October roughly 09:00–18:00 (last admission about 17:30); November–March roughly 10:00–16:30 (last admission about 16:00). The palace closes on a few public holidays, so we confirm the exact hours for your date.
